Ambit Energy Recognized as Inc. 5000 Honoree for Sixth Consecutive Year

Texas-based company ranked eighth overall by total revenue

(DALLAS) – Ambit Energy, the world’s largest direct seller of energy and a leading national retail energy provider, today was ranked No. 2,814 on Inc. magazine’s 34th annual exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. With a record revenue of $1.5 billion in 2014, Ambit netted a three-year growth rate of 128 percent, and ranked No. 8 overall in total revenue.

Ambit provides electricity and natural gas services in deregulated markets in 14 states and Washington D.C., primarily using a direct sales channel of more than 350,000 Independent Consultants. The company originally captured the No. 1 position on the Inc. 5000 in 2010, and has since been honored each year, making this the sixth consecutive year to be awarded this distinction. In addition to revenue growth, Ambit also added an additional 370 employees from 2011 to 2014, which equates to nearly 64 percent of the company’s current workforce.

The 2015 Inc. 5000 list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2011 to 2014, with the average company on the list achieving a three-year growth of 490 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $205 billion, which generated more than 647,000 jobs over the past three years.

Each company will be honored at the annual Inc. 5000 event Oct. 21-23 in Orlando, Fla., with well-known entrepreneurs speaking at the event, including Robert Herjavec of ABC’s “Shark Tank” fame and from CNBC’s “The Profit,” Marcus Lemonis.
