Take the guesswork out of your energy bills with Average or Budget Billing from Ambit Energy. They’re convenient ways to help you budget your household expenses and avoid the highs and lows of the usual energy bill.
You get a monthly bill based on rolling, 365-day historical average usage – and not your actual usage. The average daily balance is multiplied by the number of days in the current billing cycle.
If you’re new to Ambit Energy, we’ll use the historical data associated with your meter to calculate your average usage. At the end of 12 months, a reconciliation of your payment balance will occur. This will result in an “Average Billing True-up.” If we owe you money, a credit will be applied to your account. If you owe a balance, an “Average Billing Settlement” charge will be added to your account.
Average Billing is currently only available in Texas for Residential Customers. To sign up, call Customer Care at (877) 282-6248, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT.
Please Note: Average Billing helps you manage your electricity payments. This program is not available to Customers with a delinquent balance. An account reconciliation or true-up will occur at the end of every twelve (12) months that you are on Average Billing, or if: (1) your service is disconnected for non-payment; (2) you transfer your electric service to a new residence; (3) you cancel your service; or (4) you switch to conventional billing.
Your Budget Billing amount is calculated by multiplying your average usage, over one year, by your current rate. This set amount will appear on future monthly bills. At least once a year, Ambit will recalculate your Budget Bill payment amount for accuracy. If you do not have 12 months of usage history, we will estimate your average usage.
