I’m a basketball coach in East Texas, but I’m also a father with two kids who are very involved in sports. I wanted to find some way to save up for their college education and still be able to coach, watch my kids’ activities and spend time with my wife, Then I found Ambit Energy.

Before Ambit:
My life has not changed. I have added Ambit Energy to it. I am a high school basketball coach (26 years). I spend October through March very busy in basketball. But with the rigors of the basketball season, my children’s activities and the typical family activities I still have time to work Ambit and do our weekly meetings while meeting new people and helping them build their business.
Favorite Ambit Moment:
Feb. 10th, Gander Mountain store, Tyler TX. Wednesday night, we were setting up for our weekly meeting, then sirens started going off, the store went on lockdown, and we were rushed into a safe zone because tornadoes were all around. Needless to say, no guests showed up that night, so we sat in a huddle and did a training. In the middle of the training, I looked at the MCs and RCs that were there and asked if any of them had read anything in the back office about Consultant hazard pay as another tornado went over the building. There wasn’t a lot of humor in it at the time, but I know I’ll never forget that evening with Ambit.

The reason I am building my business is really simple. Most people go through life spending the majority of time at work with people that mean the least to them; rather than spending the majority of time with people that mean the most to them. I am driven every day by this and the Ambit Energy opportunity is the only vehicle that ensures I don’t miss the precious details of my life.
Before Ambit:
I have been a New York City Fireman for 18 years. It is a profession that I love and the guys that I work with are family. The events of 9/11 taught me a lot and the rules have changed for everyone. Those circumstances have caused me to reflect on life more than anything. I lost scores of friends and watched people suffer. More details could never be understood. You had to be there.
What Ambit means to you:
Ambit Energy is an unparalleled opportunity. The greatest challenge that we as Consultants have is to represent it well. We have been blessed by being in the right place at the right time. Many people are looking for exactly what Ambit offers. We as leaders must never lose sight of the excitement of a brand new Consultant and the challenges that will be before them. Let us become more teachable, coachable, and treat every Ambit Consultant with the utmost of respect. There are many dreams riding on what we do, so let’s be the best that we can be.

...earn a few EXTRA hundred dollars per month (that was easy, done in 2 months). Then I wanted to replace my nursing income so I could retire and do Ambit full-time (done in 6 months). Now I get to do whatever I want. Our family was able to take more vacations just last year than any other time in our lives, thanks to Ambit Energy. That was quality time we will always cherish.
Before Ambit:
I was a registered Nurse working at least 60 hours per week. At that schedule, I wasn’t able to do much else. I was so busy making a living, I didn’t have a life.

November 11, 2006, the day I met Ambit’s Co-founders, Jere Thompson, Jr. and Chris Chambless.

I was so busy traveling and working that I didn’t realize I had a “Why”, or needed an opportunity until one night my wife told me about a conversation that she had with my young son. She told me that he had asked, “Can I go visit dad at his house? “ She said “What do you mean” and he responded that “well Dad doesn’t visit anymore so I would like to go visit him.” My kids thought I was a visitor at the house. I realized I was trading my valuable time for money and I was neglecting my family. I knew that I had to get my time back to spend with my kids and family.

...become a long-term multimillionaire. I want my children to be able to attend any college that they want. I want for my retirement to be exactly what I want it to be and not what I have to settle for or afford. Jennifer and I want to design and build our dream home on the lake.
I have been very fortunate and blessed in my life. It took me almost dying to realize that I am here for a reason and that is to share and give back the blessings that I have received. With a portion of my earnings from Ambit, I want to start a foundation to educate and make people aware about the perils of heart disease and how to avoid it. I want to help people so that they don’t have to go through the same trials that I went through.
Before Ambit:
One day l looked up and realized that I was making a great income and lifestyle, but I was so busy doing that to see what was happening to my family. In addition to that, a change in regulations in Texas literally put me out of business in 10 days. I was fortunate that Ambit came along at the exactly the right time.
Favorite Ambit Moment:
In the hospital, the day before having heart surgery, Consultant Frank Schmaeling and Ambit Co-founder Chris Chambless came to visit me. They brought me the award I had received for being in the top money earners. It was a major big deal for a couple reasons. I was feeling very down and I was having a very dark day and they really cheered me up with their visit. I also laughed and thought, “I am winning awards and making money with Ambit while I am lying in a hospital bed!”

Adam & Michelle Carey
Grapevine, Texas
(Michelle) My parents have been employees of the tourism industry for over 30 years, which means that every holiday is a mandatory work day for both of them. I was never able to spend Christmas day with them or have Thanksgiving Dinner together because they always had to work. Adam’s father, Chris also has a very demanding work schedule. Both Adam and I know that we want the freedom to spend time with our family, especially in the future, when we start to have kids.

…mainly help Adam. Adam was excited from the beginning and took on the bulk of building the business. A little time went by and I caught the Ambit bug too. From the first couple months, we wanted Ambit to be our primary source of income, especially because both Adam and I were not making enough money in the industries that we were in. Now that we have met some of our goals, such as paying off our debt and building a residual income that covers our monthly expenses, I would really love to help our parents retire. In the next couple of years, we would like to purchase a house. Our goals are to also help the people on our team to be able to walk away from their jobs and do Ambit full-time. I feel blessed to have been able to do that, and would like to see others do the same.
Before Ambit:
I was in the retail industry and was promoted to store manager. When I got the promotion, I felt awkward because I was not excited. I remember thinking that I was devoting all of my time to work, but did not make enough money to really get ahead. I feared that I was entering in the rat race. Adam was in between jobs. He was in boat sales for one of the largest boat dealers in the area. He started out with lots of promises of huge commissions. What he found was that he did not have any time to go boating with his friends and family, which is his favorite thing to do. He worked 6 to 7 days a week.
Favorite Ambit Moment:
We have so many great memories in Ambit. Ambition Black Tie 2009 has to be the funniest compilation of moments because seeing everyone let loose and dance is so fun for us to watch and participate in.
