Ambit Energy Reviews: Energy-Efficient Dishwashers

According to Energy Star, hand washing dishes costs $431 more in water and energy than using an Energy Star certified dishwasher. Also, by using an energy-efficient dishwasher you can save more than 230 hours of effort in a year. Energy-efficient dishwashers are better at cleaning because they use higher water temperatures that disinfect and kill bacteria on your dishes better compared to older models.

With an energy-efficient dishwasher, you can save money, time, energy and water. So, Ambit reviewed the top energy-efficient dishwashers with the latest advanced technology like soil sensors, efficient jets, adjustable racks and more.

The GE Café is one of the top energy-efficient dishwashers. It’s Energy Star certified and has advanced technology that allows you to get extra dishes clean with the least amount of power and water possible. Priced a little more than $1,000, this model is expensive but great for larger families because it can hold up to 16 settings and includes a child lock, but smaller families and/or individuals might like it, too. This dishwasher has seven different cycles, including an AutoSense cycle that adjusts according to the soil level of your dishes. This helps prevent excessive waste of water and energy.

One of the best features of the GE Café is the advanced wash system. There are more than 140 jets that are positioned at many different angles. Compared to older dishwashers with jets only facing upward, the GE Café’s jets reach everywhere and everything in the dishwasher – even if dishes are loaded incorrectly. The only downside to the GE Café is the one-year warranty for all parts and labor. Compared to competitors, the warranty is short.

This dishwasher also features three racks, unlike conventional dishwashers that only have two racks. The third rack increases loading capacity by 30 percent and holds up to 16 place settings. The adjustable racks have nine rack positions and three different height levels, making it easier for you to load your dishes and silverware accordingly.
